What are implants?

Dental implants are an ideal way to replace missing teeth. They are essentially a screw that is placed into the bone. We put a cap or crown on top of it, to function like a natural tooth. It’s also possible to place a bridge or denture over implants, depending on how many teeth you have missing. Unlike dentures, implants also do not involve artificial plates in your mouth, and also do not cause shrinkage of the jaw bone and gum like dentures usually do over time.

How long does it take to do an Implant?

Every patient and procedure is unique, but there are factors that determine the length of time it takes for the dental implant procedure including:

  1. Your overall dental health
  2. The number of teeth, and which teeth are, being replaced
  3. Whether teeth will need to be extracted and bone grafting performed before the implant procedure

The factors above also determine the number of visits you will make during the treatment.
